Virginia works as a Research Assistant for the Sydney Memory and Ageing Study (MAS), which aims to investigate rates and predictors of health and cognitive decline in older adults. She joined the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CheBA) in March 2019.

Virginia completed a BA with Honours in Psychology at the University of Sydney in 1999 and a Masters in Clinical Neuropsychology at Macquarie University in 2002. Prior to joining CheBA, she worked as a psychologist on clinical trials in Alzheimer's Disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) at Charing Cross Hospital in London. She was also part of an international team of researchers that developed a cross-cultural measure for quality of life after traumatic brain injury and she worked for several years providing research and executive support to the NSW Child Death Review Team. Her research interests include quality of life after brain injury and neurodegenerative conditions and predictors of successful ageing.
