KPMG Sydney hosted a lunch on Wednesday 29 March to mark the two year anniversary of The Dementia Momentum, which provided the opportunity to thank many of the key players involved in making this initiative so successful. CHeBA Co-Director Professor Henry Brodaty AO informed the 130 corporate attendees it is predicted there will be 1.1 million people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias by 2056, with a current annual cost to the community of $14 billion - the costliest of all diseases.

Spokesman Richard Grellman AM announced that The Dementia Momentum had raised $2.4 million over two years to fund the large-scale research led by CHeBA but much more was needed. He said that the Wipeout Dementia campaign had contributed nearly $400,000 to that figure.
