Ageing affects the functional networks of the brain, impacting cognition, sensory and motor skills. Resting-state functional connectivity is a basic measure of the brain’s functional network. Previous studies have extracted resting-state functional connectivity measures from prior defined regions or where boundaries are usually coarsely defined and tend to be very large. By contrast, our study uses whole-brain voxel-based resting-state connectivity measures. This project will contribute to a comprehensive evidence base in the understanding of functional connectivity in the human brain.
