Dr Rebecca Koncz (MBBS, Hons) is completing her final year of psychiatry training as a Fellow in Intellectual Disability and Neuropsychiatry. In 2016, she was awarded a Fellowship by the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care, and has been working across a diverse range of clinical settings in intellectual disability and neuropsychiatry. She is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine, School of Psychiatry, University of New South Wales, and will undertake her PhD with the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing. The topic relates to the genetic and environmental contributions of amyloid deposition using amyloid-PET imaging in the Older Australian Twins Study cohort. She has been awarded a full-time Research Fellowship from the NSW Institute of Psychiatry to commence the PhD in 2017.
In addition to neuroimaging, Dr Koncz is a taskforce member of the Neuroqualia international "Human Affectome Project", working on a robust functional model for the project node of "motivation". Her previous research interests have included EEG correlates in psychosis, as well as mindfulness for workplace stress-reduction, as a Research Affiliate for the Brain and Mind Centre, University of Sydney.
